Sir Alex Ferguson Hopes Jose Mourinho Returns To The Premier League

Sir Alex has admitted he is missing his old rival Jose Mourinho and would welcome him back to England.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted he would be happy to see Jose Mourinho return to English football.

The two rivals go head-to-head in midweek in the Champions League when Manchester United travel to Italy to take on Inter and, speaking ahead the game, Ferguson has spoken highly of his counterpart.

“I got on well with Jose and when he left Chelsea it was a big loss to the English game,” Sir Alex told the Sunday Mirror. “Would I like to see him back? Yes, but he had better hurry up because I don’t have much time left!”

Mourinho managed Chelsea for three years before leaving in the summer and moving to Italy but has recently stated he could see himself returning to England at some point in the future.

Responding to his comments, Ferguson confessed that he would be pleased to see the former Blues boss back in England.

“Jose has suggested himself that he wants to come back to England – and I for one would definitely welcome him back,” said Ferguson.

“Maybe he will end up back at Chelsea, you never know. I enjoyed watching his interviews on television. He was so good, even his press conference ended up becoming all-ticket.

“He was cocky and he was confident – and he was very good for our game because he is a real character.

“Jose has been over to see us play a few times recently and he came to see me for a drink after we played Chelsea. You can’t deny the man’s success.”

Despite his praise Ferguson will be hoping to get the better of his rival on Tuesday night.

Mourinho possesses an excellent record against the Scot, having been beaten only once in 12 meetings with Porto and Chelsea, a record he will be keen to extend.
