‘El Cuchu’ is raring to face the English powerhouse on Tuesday night, but insists “it is not the Champions League final.”
Inter notched up their third straight win in Serie A yesterday by overcoming a plucky Bologna side 2-1 at the Stadio Dall'Ara.
And it was Argentine playmaker Esteban Cambiasso who opened the scoring in the second half, as he pounced on an Adriano’s knock down to fire home following a corner.
Everything went good, but after taking the lead we suffered a bit on set-pieces,” the 28-year-old is quoted as saying on the Beneamata’s official website. “But then Mario [Balotelli]’s free kick settled the encounter.”
Inter will now face a stern test in the Champions League on Tuesday night, as holders Manchester United will travel to San Siro.
“We will try and give our all,” mused the Argentine international. “We know that we are at the last 16 stage and are eager to give a good account of ourselves.
“But this clash will not be as decisive as people are making it out to be. It’s not the final of the competition and we just have to play it out with great tranquility. Then we’ll see what happens.”
