Mourinho Can't See Chelsea Catching Manchester United

Mourinho had good things to say about Manchester United, who he reckons to be up there with the best in Europe - behind Inter...

Jose Mourinho has talked up Manchester United's title chances when asked to comment on the resurgence of his ex cub Chelsea under Guus Hiddink.

The Inter manager commended Hiddink for the impact that he has already managed to have since taking over the reins from Luiz Felipe Scolari, but suggested that United are too far ahead for even the fabled Dutch tactician to mastermind an overhaul.

"Guus got off to a great start and I think he will guide Chelsea to many wins," Mourinho said in the latest issue of Zoo magazine.

"Of course they can win it, but you'd think United are just too far in front. You never know in football, but I think United will be champions."

As complimentary as he was of Sir Alex Ferguson's side, who Inter of course face in perhaps the most intriguing Champions League encounter of this round, Mourinho does not rate the reigning European champions as the best that the continent currently has to offer.

"I think it is Inter," he boomed, "but Barcelona and Manchester United are looking very strong in their domestic leagues as well.

"The European Cup will tell us a lot about who is the strongest."

After the scoreless stalemate at the San Siro, the Nerazzurri clash with United again in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 stage in Manchester next week.
