Recent reports in the British press claimed that Inter head coach Jose Mourinho had suggested he is ready to take over the reins at Manchester United when current manager Sir Alex Ferguson leaves.
However, the 46-year-old Portuguese boss has dismissed the speculation, insisting he would not make such claims, especially as the Nerazzurri are due to travel to Old Trafford on Wednesday evening for Champions League business.
"Jose did not give an interview or speak with anyone about Alex Ferguson’s job," Mourinho's advisor, Eladio Parames, revealed to The Sun.
"The contents of the article are ridiculous. First, it shows a lack of respect to Sir Alex, whom Jose is a great admirer of and believes will manage Manchester United for many years to come.
"Jose has a deal with Inter, which he plans to honour, and it shows a lack of respect to Manchester United in a week in which Inter are preparing to face them in an important Champions League match."
The former Chelsea boss also wanted to clear up reports which alleged that he was overly confident of Inter claiming victory against United.
“Jose would not say that he will definitely beat Manchester United in Wednesday’s game,” the advisor explained. “Of course he wants to beat United, but that is a different thing.”
