Manchester United fans will have to wait a further few days for their Serbian winger to make his debut, but O'Shea has stated that they will be pleased with what they see...
Serbian winger Zoran Tosic was expected to make his highly anticipated debut for Manchester United during last night's 4-2 victory over Derby County.
However, on-field injuries meant that manager Sir Alex Ferguson had to throw on different substitutes, so Tosic will have to wait until Saturday's FA Cup fourth round Old Trafford clash with Tottenham Hotspur for another possibility to make his United bow.
Versatile squad player John O'Shea believes the impression that Tosic will ultimately make will be worth the wait.
He told MUTV: "He’s made a good impression on everybody with his set-piece delivery and beautiful left foot.
"He really is a natural wide player and I’m sure he’s going to be a joy to watch and a pleasure to play with."
Sir Alex Ferguson added, "We like wide players at this club."
On the nature of the victory over Derby and the ensured passage to Wembley for the League Cup final, O'Shea said:
"We made sure the pitch was big by getting the ball out wide and that’s how Nani got the first goal, by cutting in from the left.
"That’s what Nani is capable of when he’s fully concentrating on the job. He does that in training as well."
Regarding his own goal - United's second - he said:
"I’ve been getting close in the last few games and I had a feeling there was one coming tonight.
"I have a good record against Roy Carroll - I scored one when he played for West Ham - so I was happy to put another one past him, from a great lay-off by Danny Welbeck."
On the prospect of a Rams comeback, the Irishman noted: "We were disappointed with how we made it edgy towards the end.
He continued: "Fingers crossed the injuries are not too serious because we have Spurs in the FA Cup, then West Brom in the league. It’s so tight in the league now, we’re going to need everybody, including the young lads. The boss has shown a lot of confidence in them."
