Hull City have struck a deal to sign Manchester United striker Manucho on loan for the rest of the season.
The Angolan frontman has made one Barclays Premier League appearance for United, who let him spend part of last season on loan at Panathinaikos.
Hull have not yet secured a work permit for the 25-year-old but hope they will be able to achieve that before Saturday's match against Arsenal.
The Tigers also remain hopeful of completing the signing of former Liverpool right-back Steve Finnan from Espanyol, however that is unlikely to be finalised within 24 hours.
making sure
Hull manager Phil Brown said the club were still hoping to do a deal with Finnan, but insisted they would have to be completely satisfied about the full-back's fitness.
"It is a long way from being complete," said Brown.
"He has been injured and I think he has only played four games for Espanyol, which is a concern of ours, hence the reason he has undergone a medical to the extent he has.
"We are pulling out all the stops. We are making sure we are doing this one properly."
