Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has taken the first hesitant steps on the road to full fitness after having a second knee operation.The £17million midfielder was on crutches after surgery in Colorado to fix the long-standing tendinitis problem that is threatening to wreck his career.
The 28-year-old is due back in England this week to start rehabilitation and hopes to take part in pre-season training.
But time could be running out on his plans to revive an England career that has earned him 42 caps.
A source close to the player said: 'Owen hopes the operation was successful but we have to wait and see.'
