Fergie and co remain outraged at their French full-back's recent suspension for his involvement in 'the Battle of the Bridge'...
Sir Alex Ferguson has never been one to pull punches, and his programme notes from Manchester United's clash with Chelsea on Sunday appeared to demonstrate as much.
The Scot is still furious that Patrice Evra was handed a four-match suspension after an enquiry into the post-game fracas that occurred at Stamford Bridge last season.
"I’m still shocked by the four-match ban handed out to Patrice following the incident at Stamford Bridge that saw him at odds with one of their groundsmen," the Scot wrote.
"It’s gone now, of course, and the important thing is our full concentration on getting the right result against a team who historically have done well at Old Trafford."
However, British broadsheets The Times and The Guardian claim that Ferguson did indeed tone down his column at the request of United chief executive David Gill.
In his original piece, the legendary Old Trafford gaffer expressed his anger at the fact the Football Association panel which investigated the Evra case was chaired by Nicholas Stewart, QC, an Arsenal season-ticket holder.
While Mr Stewart himself is not under any scrutiny, a United source said: "They [the FA] at least should have let us know before the case was heard. If that had happened we could have pointed out our concerns."
